NEWS ADVISORYFor Immediate ReleaseSan Diego to host 30th Annual Convention of the Veterans For PeaceFrom August 5th through 9th, 2015, San Diego will be playing host to the 30th Annual National Convention of the Veterans For Peace, a national veteran's educational organization, dedicated to the cause of world peace by applying the concept of engaging conflict peacefully, without violence. The theme of the convention is "Peace and Reconciliation in the Pacific", and will feature Seymour Hersh, noted investigative reporter, as the keynote speaker on Saturday night, August 8th. All events are open to the public, but registration is required (http://vfpnationalconvention.org/).The recently restored 1958 peace boat "The Golden Rule" will sail into San Diego Bay and will be present during the entire convention. This is the first time that the local San Diego chapter has been honored to host the annual convention.
