  Sanders, Trump,
and Super Tuesday
Where Does the Left
Go From Here?

In the most unpredictable presidential election in at least a generation, there are undoubtedly more twists to come. Sanders may continue to mount a strong challenge and provoke bitter conflict within the Democratic Party--while the Republicans potentially coalesce behind a consensus candidate.

Or Clinton could take firm control of the race after the "Super Tuesday" primaries and caucuses, forcing Sanders supporters to ask themselves if they are going to follow their candidate behind support for Clinton, or try to continue the fight for a political revolution that he promised.

ABOUT THE FILM

"Cracking the Codes: The System of Racial Inequity" asks America to talk about the causes and consequences of systemic inequity. Designed for dialogue, the film works to disentangle internal beliefs, attitudes and pre-judgments within, and it builds skills to address the structural drivers of social and economic inequities. The film features moving stories from 24 racial justice leaders including Amer Ahmed, Michael Benitez, Barbie-Danielle DeCarlo, Joy DeGruy, Harley Eagle, Ericka Huggins, Yuko Kodama, Peggy McIntosh, Rinku Sen, Tillman Smith and Tim Wise.

Mirrors of Privilege: Making Whiteness Visible
is a film for all people who are interested in justice, personal growth, and community. It features experiences of white women and men who have worked to gain insight into what it means to challenge notions of racism and white supremacy in the United States. It is "a moving call, long-overdue, coming from the heart of white people working to restore their own humanity. Undoing the false teachings of racial supremacy, which are all-pervasive and quite subtle, requires a lifetime of work." – Van Jones

#1
– Feb 6th – The Way Home
www.facebook.com/events/959966187403813/
Over the course of 8 months, 64 women, representing a cross-section of cultures in the U.S. (African-American, Arab, Asian, European-American, Indigenous, Jewish, Latina, and Multi-Racial), came together to share their experiences and explore their stories of identity, oppression, and resistance. Their candid conversations offer rare access into multi-dimensional cultural worlds invisible to outsiders. The stories are strands that weave together perspectives of how we are the same and how we are unique.

[SDCPJ] Anti-militarist Web site recently updated

This is to let you know that NEW articles and updated content have recently been posted at http://www.comdsd.org/, the Web site of the Committee Opposed to Militarism and the Draft (COMD), based in San Diego, Calif., U.S.A.

The current update includes three articles from the latest issue of COMD's printed newsletter, Draft NOtices:

- "Will Women Be Drafted? Will Women Be Required to Register for the Draft?," by Edward Hasbrouck, alerts us to the likelihood that male-only Selective Service registration in the U.S. will soon be ruled unconstitutional, opening up the possibility of either extending draft registration to women or ending it entirely.

- "Historic Violence and Repression in Mexico: Follow the Weapons Trail," by Luis Villanueva, describes the destructive consequences of U.S. military aid to Mexico under the Merida Initiative.

- "Sexual Assaults Lead to Tighter Recruiting Restrictions in Austin Schools," by Susan Van Haitsma, tells how an organizing victory was recently achieved in the school district of Austin, Texas.

In addition to the above three articles, the current printed version of Draft NOtices covers such topics as the military-entertainment complex. a new book on the movement to counter recruitment and demilitarize public schools, and the Pope's condemnation of the weapons trade.

To order the complete printed version of Draft NOtices, visit the Web site's Draft NOtices page.
