Subject: [SWZCMembers] A Non-Violent Communication Workshop at SWZC July 24th
hi everyone,
We are excited to announce we will be hosting an all-day workshop to learn and practice the art of NVC-or NonViolent Communication. This process of communication is based on Marshal Rosenberg's book "NonViolent Communication: A Language Of Life". Here is an excerpt from the Center for NVC;
"Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is based on the principles of nonviolence- - the natural state of compassion when no violence is present in the heart.
NVC begins by assuming that we are all compassionate by nature and that violent strategies—whether verbal or physical—are learned behaviors taught and supported by the prevailing culture. NVC also assumes that we all share the same, basic human needs, and that each of our actions are a strategy to meet one or more of these needs.
People who practice NVC have found greater authenticity in their communication, increased understanding, deepening connection and conflict resolution."The fee for all day is $50, This does not include meals. (please consider also offering dana to SWZC to help pay for the space)
This workshop will be lead by a certified NVC facilitator.
The time will be approximately 9-5 on Sat. July 24th. We will keep you informed about any changes.
