LIGHT UP THE NIGHT FOR EQUALITY: THIS SATURDAY!
In just a few days, our community will join together once more to make an IMPACT this holiday season. Just like on November 15th, people in cities across the country and around the world will join together to spread the message of equal rights. Peaceful candlelight vigils will be held at commercial centers in honor of the rights lost to Proposition 8 and the many rights that have remained non-existent for 1 in 10 US citizens.

| HOLIDAY CARDS TO SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT EQUAL RIGHTS
As part of this Saturday's outreach, we encouraging everyone to pass out the "5 Rights Holiday Card" to shoppers. This cordial holiday card states just 5 of the many rights not afforded to our community. These include the right to fight for one's country, US citizen sponsorship of one's partner, legal guardianship over one's child, job protections based on sexual orientation (not available in 30 states), and federal as well as state-wide civil marriage.

 JoinTheImpact prefers to stay a grassroots organization that works with and for the people. You are all a part of the impact and we need to ensure that we stay yours.
Because of this, members and founders of JTI work on a volunteer basis, but there are still bills to pay to keep the organization going strong. As such, we have added some unique ways to make money on our site: Banner advertising, a "Donate Now" button, and a T-shirt store with designs from members of the LGBTQ community. All proceeds go toward keeping JTI strong as a non-profit organization and allow us to put money back into this movement in ways that help our members, our initiatives, and the LGBTQ community.

JoinTheImpact just learned that Obama's transition office has announced that they are no longer accepting postcards and will now only accept #10 envelopes. We won't go away that easily!
Put your postcard in a #10 envelope and send it along to him anyway. Get the suggested message and transition office mailing address here, then post a photo of you and your card in the photo gallery.
