Subject: March Against Monsanto!
MARCH AGAINST MONSANTO SAN DIEGO 5/23/2015
The March Against Monsanto picked up a huge head of steam as the Port of San Diego and San Diego City are suing Monsanto for polluting the bay with PCBs. This means that our march will be covered nationally, and will be in the spotlight! So this is the year to really do our best to get a great turnout.
DATE: Saturday, May 23, 2015
WHERE: Balboa Park "Bea Evenson" Fountain
TIME: Set up at 9:30.
Gather and Visit booths and tables 10am
Program with speakers at 11am.
March at noon.
MARCH: Our plan is to have two lengths, one just over the Laurel St. bridge, pause for photo op, then back, around the park, by World Beat Center, and then back to the start, about 1.5 miles. The other marches through downtown and is at least 3.5 miles.
PARKING: Parking is free and plentiful.
Please "Join" the Facebook event so we have an idea of number of people, and please INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!

HELP! Volunteers needed for promotions, please! Organizers are but a VERY SMALL handful of people who could use a whole lot of help promoting this uber important event.
1. Volunteers needed to promote for 2 hours in front of Whole Foods in Hillcrest and in front of Downtown Horton Plaza. Suggested dates and times are: Tue. MAY 19th 5-7pm and Wed. MAY 20th 5-7pm.
Also, promoters needed at the Little Italy Farmers Market and the El Cajon Street Fair next Sat. MAY 16th 10am-2pm. Just commit to help holding a banner and/or passing out flyers and talking to the public about the march and why we march. The dates/times are somewhat flexible! When are YOU available to help?
2. Help needed to distribute flyers/post posters in high-traffic and relevant places such as local organic eateries, local colleges, coffee houses, grocers, farmers markets, etc. Flyers and posters are available for pick-up from one of our volunteer coordinators. You may reach him at (619) 922-2055.
If you've never volunteered for something like this but are interested, trust me, you always walk away glad to know that you were an active participant in the good fight and at the very least, you learn something while informing others!
