URGENT - Fast Food Workers Go On Strike!
Thursday, May 15th
Friends,
Support hard working San Diego Fast- Food Workers going on strike, Thursday, May 15th !!!! Front line fast food workers in San Diego are living in poverty while working in a $200 billion industry. Workers on six continents are joining the movement for higher pay and rights on the job at restaurants like McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, and KFC. San Diego joins 150 other U.S. cities that are supporting workers seeking dignity and justice. It's scary to walk off the job! The workers are nervous and fearful. The chaplaincy and support of ICWJ members gives them courage and calm. They are not alone. The workers need support and encouragement.
There will be 3 STRIKE ACTIONS on Thursday the 15th at three separate restaurants in San Diego. THEY ARE ALL IMPORTANT. Please place the following times and locations on your calendar.
Logistics:
Rabbi Laurie, Lisa, and ICWJ Board Members will be at all three events. Please wear your clergy/religous attire.
The ICWJ is sponsoring the middle event at 9:30 a.m. If you have to choose only one, please participate in this one.
