Nonviolent Peacekeeper Training
Saturday, February 15, 2014 9-11:30 a.m.
Peace Resource Center of San Diego
3850 Westgate Place, San Diego, CA 92105
The Peace Resource Center will hold a training for those who would like to help at demonstrations and other activities. The training will include techniques, tasks, practical roleplays and more.
The role of peacekeepers is to promote the goals of the event as stated by the event officials and
their literature, and to maintain the safety of all involved. Peacekeepers act as a communications network, help set the tone of the action, mediate between participants and counter-protestors when needed, and more.
We need peacekeepers specifically to help at a 350.org activity coming up soon. However, the skills are useful for any public activity and we need trained volunteers willing to be on call as needed. If you'd like to be a part of "Growing" our pool of trained peacekeepers who can help other groups at their demonstrations and activities please let us know! (Note: If you have already been trained and would like to be a part of the peacekeeper group, please let me know.) Thank you!
Please RSVP for the training or for more info: carolj@prcsd.org
