Police Reform Update!
It's time for truly independent investigations of police complaints.

Greetings to supporters of reform of the Citizens Review Board on Police Practices (CRB).  As you know, Women Occupy San Diego (WOSD) has worked on this issue for many years and in 2016 the City Council placed Measure G on the ballot, which they wrote taking a few ideas from us.  Measure G passed with 83% of the vote.  But it is only a very small first step.  We have rewritten our proposed CRB Charter Amendment, changing the CRB from a "review board" to an Independent Commission, similar to the Ethics Commission.
A copy of our proposal can be
read here.

The new Commission on Police Reform
City Charter Amendment
has been submitted and is being presented at the April 11th Rules Committee Meeting!

We will be asking the Rules Committee to send the proposal to the full City Council to have them put it on the November 2018 ballot.

Please Attend
the San Diego City Council
Rules Committee meeting!

Wednesday, April 11 @ 1PM
202 C Street
City Council Committee Room, 12th Floor

We need everyone to attend and support the proposed
Amendment to the City Charter.  You can read the amendment here.

Arrive at 12:30 to assure a seat.
To share your story fill out a speakers slip,

or you can cede time to a speaker on the agenda.

Call or Email your

Please call her/him and ask them to support this urgently needed reform!  You can also contact any of the council members even if you aren't in their district.

...You can also come tell your story at the upcoming Rules committee or at any city council meeting.
