Federal injunction or no, we need to deliver a mass rejection of this law in the streets!

 
A FREE (donations encouraged) 47 passenger bus will be leaving from Chicano Park on Wednesday, 7/28 at around 9:00 PM.  Folks are encouraged to sleep on the bus.  It will take people to the demonstration, and will return the next night, 7/29.  Thanks to the San Diego-Imperial Counties Central Labor Council for providing transportation.
 
Remember, we're boycotting Arizona, so bring as much of your own food and water supplies as possible, so we don't have to buy much while we're there.  It will be hot, so bring a hat, plenty of liquids, and sun screen.

It is time for a viable solution to deal with a system hardwired for self destruction. It is with that very unfortunate introduction that we, The Zeitgeist Movement, now must enter the international conversation to express the need for true change. That word is not some jingoist slogan devised by a focus group, but the evident desire of the public for a meaningful transition out of the destructive legacy, the burden of our past mistakes as a maturing civilization. We only have one Earth; there is no reset button here. We must break out of our established ideologies that have prevented progress. Ending the political duality, economic stratification and false divisions is key to overcoming our apparent historical bondage that says the future we were promised must remain an elusive dream. We must now rethink our society and outgrow those parts of it that serve to paralyze us. As of Friday, April 30th it was reported by CBS News (US) that the spill had spread to cover 2,100 square miles and was still spilling at a rate up to 5,000 barrels (210,000 gallons) a day. As of today, there has been no progress in stopping this catastrophe. This did not have to happen. It happened because we continue to use an obsolete technology for the sake of maintaining a profitable establishment. An establishment that perpetuates vast inequality in its wages to its employees versus its core owners, destroys fragile and vital eco-systems, and pollutes our air. It is time for real change, not empty promises. No amount of socialism or free market ideology will save us from ourselves, there needs to be a fundamental re-write of what we think we know, to achieve a sustainable human enterprise. Our generation has stood and watched as our planet has been raped and pillaged, yet we do nothing. Our generation has stood and watched as our government bailed out the very people who created this economic crisis, yet we do nothing. Our generation has stood and watched as our rights have been stripped away from us, and yet we do nothing. Our generation has stood and watched as we have been handed the problems of the countless generations before it, and we are preparing to do the same to the next generation, and we do nothing. Let us be the first generation to hand solutions to our children and our children's children. But we can't do it alone. Let us break down the barriers we have created amongst ourselves. We need all of you, every last one, to say enough is enough in one voice. Not as Americans or Russians, Christians or Muslims, but as fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters. Let us destroy the lines between us and work to create a world where our children are truly safe and free. Let us create a world where we can tell our children that they can be and do whatever their heart desires, and know deep inside us we are telling them the truth. Let our generation be the one. We have the tools, we have the knowledge, we have the technology. It is time we make the transition to a world, an economy, and a future we all deserve regardless of geographic location or economic disposition. As long as we rely on legacy systems defined in a 19th century mentality all we will do is spin our wheels while a parade of economic and ecologic disasters visits us again and again. It is time to pull the plug on this charade because as you will find out, there is a better way. We, the Zeitgeist Movement representatives, reach out to you so that we can all work together to do what must be done. Every man, woman and child has a voice, but together we can create one voice so deafening that no one will have a choice but to listen. But it requires you. Al-Awda Los Angeles, The Palestine Right to Return Coalition is calling for a second demonstration on Friday the 4th of June @ 4 pm in front of the Zionist consulate, 6830 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles.

We are calling for a complete lifting of the Gaza Siege and upon the Obama administration to join the world body in condemning Israel's deadly attack in international waters on a convoy of unarmed international peace activists bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza. At least 19 of the activists were killed and over 60 were wounded by the attacking Zionist force. It is imperative that the three-year-old siege on Gaza be lifted immediately, and that all the activists are released as soon as possible.

 

We demand that Israel be held accountable for its violations of international law.

Activist San Diego is thrilled to announce our organization is in the final stages of being awarded 2 construction permits by the FCC for 2 new "full power" FR radio stations in San Diego county.

Bi-monthly Prometheus Project will help us and others to 'GET ON the AIR' during phone conference workshops.
We will have a short report back on what was learned..

From the San Diego Animal Defense Team sdanimaldefenseteam.blogspot.com   For the first time in the history of the Del Mar horse races, four members of the San Diego Animal Defense Team successfully infiltrated Opening Day AKA Hat Day on July 21, wearing large hats protesting the cruelty of horse racing. The team officially entered the Opening Day hat contest, sponsored by track officials and billed as "The One and Only Truly Fabulous Hats Contest." They then joined the Parade of Hats, potentially exposing thousands of horse race fans to creative visuals of the cruel reality of racing. Each hat was individually crafted. One featured "My Pretty (Dead) Pony." Another boldly stated "Racing Kills." The third was topped with three dead horses and a tombstone engraved with  "Del Mar 2009 -- 13 horses dead / 2010 -- ???" The fourth hat featured a prominent banner: "Remembering the valiant horses who gave their lives for 'sport,' " trimmed with ghost horses with targets on them. The Animal Defense Team has scheduled its annual protest outside of the track entrance. PLEASE JOIN US! EVERONE IS WELCOME AND NEEDED! Bring signs, water and your compassion for the victims of an industry based on greed, drugging, deception and death. This is the third annual ADT protest at the Del Mar Races. WHEN Saturday, August 28, 2010 11:30 AM - 1 PM This is the $1 Million Pacific Classic Day, the biggest purse of the season. Post time is at 1 PM WHERE The intersection of Jimmy Durante Blvd. and Via de la Valle, under the Del Mar marquee at the corner. WHY The losers of Del Mar's richest "betting" day will far outweigh the winners and death is imminent. Seven out of ten horses are slaughtered in the U.S., not because they are in pain, suffering or living with a terminal illness -- they are slaughtered because their owners don't want them anymore. For the thoroughbred, the risk of death is greater if they are injured or they finish last where the turf meets the surf in Del Mar. If your favorite horse doesn't make a good showing in the race, chances are the next stop is the slaughterhouse. Email the President Dear Walter, The DEA's vendetta against medical marijuana patients and providers keeps getting more and more infuriating. Mendocino County, California passed a new medical marijuana ordinance this year that allows local growers to apply for a cultivation permit with the sheriff.  But earlier this month, the DEA swooped in and raided the home of the program's first applicant.  Agents took money and property but made no arrests. What a slap in the face to the local government!  The DEA has gone too far, and President Obama needs to replace Acting Administrator Michele Leonhart.  The president has directed federal officials to stop wasting time and money on medical marijuana prosecutions.  Yet even though Leonhart is blatantly flouting his directive, he's nominated her to become the permanent head of the DEA. Together with our allies in the movement to end marijuana prohibition, we're calling on President Obama to withdraw her nomination.  Our whole movement is united and working together to demand a DEA administrator who respects the right of patients to use their legal, doctor-recommended medicine.  Will you join us? The raid in Mendocino County is part of a disturbing trend.  DEA agents have raided four other medical marijuana providers in the past few weeks.  The timing is hardly coincidental — California voters could pass a ballot initiative in November that would make marijuana legal throughout the state, and I suspect the DEA is conducting the raids to intimidate growers and activists. President Obama has called federal medical marijuana raids a waste of resources.  Yet his nominee continues to relentlessly harass patients and providers.  If she refuses to respect the administration's stated principles, the president needs to find a new nominee who will.  Tell the president to withdraw Michele Leonhart's nomination for DEA administrator.
