When this is happening... We must do this! Organize for our rights!

Community Meeting Topics:
1. Education and information: We want to organize "know your rights"events in City Heights and other places that ICE and law enforcement have been harassing immigrants.
2. Community Defense: The formation of a local defense committees (Comites de Defensa del Barrio) in City Heights, then eventurally elsewhere in San Diego County. Or perhaps we should building up the existing City Heights Human Rights Committee.
3. In Unity There is Strength: The May 1st Coalition is considering becoming part of the organization Puente AZ (The group that led the resistance in Arizona). We admire their organizing model of forming 'Barrio Defense Committees and People's Assemblies.
WHO: Who should attend the meeting? Anyone! Students, day laborers, mothers, supporters of human rights, church groups, non-profits orgs, soccer teams, and anyone who cares about justice.
This meeting is called by members of the May 1st Coalition - an organization that has defended immigrant rights and organized many events and demonstrations with the community.

Reunión Comunitaria - Agenda:
- Educación y información: Organización de eventos de "Conozca sus derechos legales" en City Heights y otras partes donde la Migra/ICE y la policía están amenazando a los inmigrantes.
- Defensa comunitaria: Formación de "Comités de Defensa del Barrio" en City Heights y después en todo el condado de San Diego. (O posiblemente fortalecer el Comité de Derechos Humanos de City Heights y los otros grupos que ya existen.
- La Unidad Hace la Fuerza: La Coalición Primero de Mayo está considerando incorporarse como parte de la organización Puente Arizona (El grupo que más organizó la resistencia en Phoenix). Admiramos el ejemplo y la manera que han organizado la comunidad creando 'Comités de Defensa del Barrio' y Asambleas del Pueblo.
¿Quién debe asistir? ¡Todos! Estudiantes, jornaleros, madres de familia, los que apoyan a derechos humanos, miembros de iglesias, ONGs, equipos de fútbol, y todos quienes que buscan paz y justicia. ¡Unete!
Esta reunión es convocada por la Coalición Primero de Mayo - una organización que ha defendido a los derechos del inmigrante y ha organizado muchos eventos y manifestaciones con la comunidad.
