Party with Progressives
Celebrate Solstice with Activists

You need, we all need, a strong social justice movement in San Diego.

Activist San Diego has been here with you for 16 years, building the Peace Movement, rallying to end police violence, keeping an Activist Center alive as a resource for progressives and the community. ASD has sponsored or co-sponsored 700 events and drawn 1000s into the cause for peace, equality and social justice. We did it all with your grassroots support and donations.

KNSJ, barely 2.5 years old, has opened up the potential for 24/7 communications between all our organizations and causes, a university of the airwaves with truth-telling never heard in San Diego on the broadcast media... and we have just begun to tap the rich cultural and informational sharing.  We want to transform the political landscape, especially in this election year!

We have never needed you more than today!
KNSJ is being held hostage by a monopolist tower company to pay $14,000 of fees.  We want to erase this debt by Jan 1, 2016 to start the New Year full force.  ONLY YOU can do this for us.  We have never let up or let you down.  Please launch us into 2016 free of debt so we can expand news, muckraking, Local music and culture for the next generation and beyond!  Please, Donate Now! Contributions are tax deductible too.  Do it Now...

KNSJ MAKING SAN DIEGO PROUD WITH LIVE PROGRAMMING:

YOU ARE PART OF THE SOLUTION

Activist San Diego's new Board of Directors is calling on the community to help raise $5000 a month to offset the huge expenses we face keeping the radio station operating: we owe $13,000 and tower rental fees, $3000 to ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and Sound Exchange for music royalties, we owe $2000 in legal fees including to our  lawyer, $750 for Tax prep and $1000 plus for insurance, hundreds in utilities... YOU are the source of 90% of our income so please make an ongoing contribution today! This time don't procrastinate; donate at KNSJ.org

If you listen to Democracy Now! and Tom Hartman on KNSJ you hear the daily exposé of corporate corruption and government spying that informs and motivates us to stay involved and stay connected.
Please listen in on 89.1 fm in you car, on the TuneIn Radio or iTunes App, on online at KNSJ.org.

[SDCPJ] uh oh! Weary Wednesday?

Dear friends of peace, justice, and sustainability,

Certainly you know of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, probably even ‎Small Business Saturday and GivingTuesday‬, yes? Like me, you probably saw quite a number of email or social media requests to donate to your favorite nonprofit yesterday. All that following a day where we're supposed to be grateful for what we have... Phew! That's why some refer to today as Weary Wednesday. "They" won't stop prying at your pocketbooks.

Well... hopefully, your wallets aren't weary, let alone your spirits. I bet you are a grateful person, involved in social justice (you are on this list, after all!). Perhaps you celebrated "Black Out Friday" instead of Black Friday. Maybe you didn't shop online while at work on Monday. Possibly you did give to a nonprofit yesterday.

If you didn't, or even if you did one/any of those (yes, here's the pitch)...

Consider the following actions that are simple, but do really count to help make the world better:

(1) Come to the Annual "Peace on Earth Holiday Bazaar"
     this Saturday, Dec 5th from 10 am - 2pm
at Mid City Gym, 43rd and Landis, 92105.

There will be:
... 26 small local not-for-profit groups to learn about and support.
... Entertainment by a high school quartet, peace on earth carolers, circus performers, and guitar students
... Delicious food, tasty treats, and hot drinks available from some of the groups
... and even some cute rescue animals are visiting!
Details and flyers: www.PeaceBazaar.net
Updates/photos from groups: www.facebook.com/peacebazaar

(2) Make #GivingTuesday any day (just like Earth Day is everyday!)...

And with that, in your own name or that of friends and family, please consider helping build peace and justice here in 2016 by supporting the Peace Resource Center of San Diego!  The PRC just celebrated its 35th anniversary, and is committed to continuing to work, better than ever, locally and beyond. What world might we (all together) be living in after another 35 years?  What kind of world should children and future generations look forward to? Help us continue our work --WITH YOU-- to build a better world, one where there is peace with justice through nonviolent means.

Also, if you do shop online at Amazon, now or at any time, consider choosing the Peace Resource Center of San Diego as your donation beneficiary. It's just 1% per purchase, but think "Pennies for Peace" to help us continue the work... https://smile.amazon.com/ch/95-3594247

As a new Board member, I know that renewed enthusiasm and energy to do what we must is resident at the PRC! And I have now donated to PRC on behalf of loved ones.

[SDCPJ] ALERT - San Diego Climate Action this SATURDAY

March & Rally for Climate Justice (UN climate Talks)

When:
12/12/2015 @ 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Where:
Balboa Park
6th Ave & Laurel St
San Diego, CA 92103

From November 29 to December 12, world leaders will meet in Paris to negotiate a new global climate treaty. While progress is expected, we already know that any agreement reached will not be nearly as strong as we need it to be. 2015 is on track to be the hottest year on record, and unprecedented storms, floods and droughts are happening around the world. The tragedy in Paris has only strengthened our resolve to stand together for a peaceful and livable planet. This movement for climate justice has always also been a movement for peace– no matter what background or religion, a way for us to protect our common home. So as world leaders gather in Paris at the end of November for the COP global climate summit, folks around the world will be marching in their communities.

On December 12, people will come together from all over San Diego County to call for bold climate solutions that create local jobs, strengthen community power and transition us to 100% clean energy by 2035. And we'll call on world leaders to not cross climate red lines – including keeping 80% of fossil fuels in the ground. Huge demonstrations will take place in Paris and around the world. If we are successful, these mobilizations could be a real turning point for the movement.

It's time to show the world that true climate leadership means a brighter future for all. December 12 will be one of San Diego's biggest climate actions ever — can you join us? RSVP NOW and contact us to volunteer!

Be sure to share this event by email and on facebook.  Download English flyers (Word) (pdf) or Spanish flyers (Word) (pdf) (4 per page) and 8.5 x 11 posters (pdf)  (png image). Sample email/social media posts

Location: We'll gather at 6th and Laurel in Balboa Park at noon, march to the fountain by the Fleet Science Center (~0.8 miles, can go directly there) and hold a rally. We should be done by 2:30 pm.
