An interesting fact that I did not know. The Haitian Revolution was the beginning of the end of the powerful French colonial army. It resulted in the security of the United States, the acquisition of Louisiana, the end of slavery in the U.S. and the defeat of the French by the Mexicans in Mexico (Cinco De Mayo).
