The Supreme Court will rule on the Constitutionality of Prop 8 and DOMA Wednesday. Stand up and be counted at the rally we are hosting starting at 545pm under the Hillcrest Flag Pole.  RSVP  https://www.facebook.com/events/256072917868062/ While Prop 8 may have been the spark to re-ignite a fire in the Queer community in 2008, we know that we will need the fire to keep burning after tomorrow's ruling, no matter the outcome. We will need to be active and vigilant to get rid of employment discrimination, youth bullying and other violence against our community. We have an exciting list of allies and activists ready to speak tomorrow. Some you will know, others may have new ideas for solidarity and bridge-building. Begin gathering at the flag pole at 5pm, then hear these speakers beginning at 545pm: Alphie Padilla, organizer with Canvass for a Cause and transgender activist Unity Fellowship Church pastor Rev. Gerald Greene Christina Griffin, organizer for San Diego branch of NAACP and United Domestic Workers of America Cathy Carmack, queer historian and Canvass for a Cause organizer Karen Guzmán, active member of the San Diego DREAM Team Jeanne Burke, author and Buddhist chaplain  Richard Barrera, leader of  San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council and San Diego Unified School Board member Eric Isaacson, attorney representing the Unitarian Universalist Association with active role in State and Federal legal battles over California marriage equality Cecile Veillard, co-founder of SAME Alliance and organizer with the International      Socialist Organization State Assembly Majority Leader Toni Atkins has been invited and will attend if her legislative schedule allows MEET @ THE FLAGPOLE 5PM RSVP for the rally here https://www.facebook.com/events/256072917868062/   After the rally, we will have a march though Hillcrest and back to the Flag Pole.
