• Plaza to be Reoccupied, says Occupier Committee of Occupy San Diego
  • Press release cites laws that state that a place to sleep must be provided or city must allow sleeping on city property.

Occupiers Plans To "Re-Occupy" Freedom Plaza Starting Saturday December 17, 2011.

We believe under the Illegal Lodging, 647(e) agreement filed 2/8/2011, 04 CV -2314 BEN, Exhibit "A" as well as "Training Bulletin SDPD, page 5 section II; 1., in conjunction with the federal court order giving persons the right to sleep in public space when no shelter beds are available (and it is rare to find such beds available), we have legal standing for our protest to remain in the plaza 24 hours a day and 7 days per week. Therefore we're lawfully re-occupying Freedom Plaza.

• SPECIAL GA MEETING on Saturday, Dec 17 at 2pm -- We need everyone to attend that can, so we can discuss whether fewer GA meetings with active committees will help the cause.

• Occupy SD benefit concert at The Ruby Room
  • Fantastic! This was very well attended, and I thought the speeches were pretty good. I enjoyed seeing everyone in a social setting since we have bonded so much after working so hard on OSD.
  • It's funny that I used to shoot pool at this bar when I was in college (30 years ago, OMG) and it was called the Backstretch then.
  • Great success which must be repeated in the future.

• Press conference NO LONGER being planned for Friday, 12/16 regarding lawsuit for Ray Lutz arrest. Press conference has been postponed, possibly until after holiday season.

Despite what you might hear on the corporate-owned news:

• The occupation continues, around the clock.
• PLEASE COME DOWN when you can and help with numbers. This is your true vote. Stay at home = vote against 99%.
• Tents and almost everything is now being restricted by the police.
• Food is needed -- we no longer have a food table, so you'll have to play it by ear.
• We will not be denied our constitutional right to assemble and speak!
• Many Teach-ins on Sunday!
