What Role for Activists?

GAZA - Larry Hampshire & Faith Attaguile were part of an aid convoy early this year and will share their vivid experiences with us. The Gaza aid blockade was highlighted by the tragic events surrounding the raid on the Freedom Flotilla and the use of deadly force and by the Israeli Defense Forces.  What is our role in addressing self-determination and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as we actively seek an end to the occupation, the blockade & work towards genuine peace & security for all peoples?  More info at  http://witnessgaza.com/  and  http://gazafreedommarch.org/cms/en/flotilla.aspx

HAITI - “Haiti is still suffering from the earthquake, even thought the cameras have been turned off”. David Schmidt, San Diego resident, local community organizer and freelance journalist, will speak. He recently returned from three weeks volunteering with a human rights organization in Haiti. He will be discussing the current situation since the January 12 earthquake & stories that haven’t made the news.
