Keynote Speaker: Norbert Ehrenfreund, Author, “The Nuremberg Legacy: How the Nazi War Crimes Trials
Changed the Course of History” (2007); Norbert Ehrenfreund has served as a trial judge of the California Superior Court for over
thirty years. Officially retired, he continues to serve on the bench on assignment.
Sixty years have passed since the Nuremberg trials of the major Nazi War criminals, but that event
stands as the foundation of international justice . Drawing on his experience as a correspondent
for The Stars and Stripes during the trials and employing his legal background, Judge
Ehrenfreund will speak about how the trials changed history and set precedents for international
law that continue to play a role today and the betrayal and violations of that legacy.
