[SDCPJ] Wars start with gun ranges in our schools--protest Oct. 14!

A special note: It is VERY important for the local peace movement to turn out for this protest. It's being organized mostly by youth of color from working-class communities that are exploited for cannon fodder. They turned out over 100 at a school board meeting in April, but sadly, almost no one from the peace coalition's large list responded to the call. See http://www.projectyano.org/educationnotarms/April22_2008.html

If you really want to see more student anti-war activism and a diverse peace movement, this is your chance to show it. Take off early from school or work, if necessary, but please get over to the school board meeting on Oct. 14!

Also, please let us know if you can help transport students from Mission Bay HS.

Students, parents and teachers
NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

OCT. 14, 2008

San Diego Unified School Board Meeting

They would rather have our students go into the military than to college. It's your chance to help end the militarization of our YOUTH!

Students, parents and teachers have been protesting the 11 gun ranges operated by Jr. ROTC in San Diego high schools. Gun ranges are not required for Jr. ROTC; cities like Chicago have removed them. Join us to demand the same!

Come to the Education Center, 4100 Normal St., San Diego

We will address the board at 3pm. WE NEED YOU THERE BY 2:45 pm
