June 14th     Thursday     7:00 p.m.   Book Release "Ocean Beach Where Land and Water Meet.  The Ocean Beach Green Center is honored to host author, historian, and activist, Kathy Blavatt who will present her new book.  She will focus on the importance of what makes Ocean Beach special, and how water is such an important part of our history.  She will talk about the chapters on Local Color and the Greening of Ocean Beach.  She will also show many rarely seen O.B. photos. Books will be available at the event.  Part of the proceeds will go to the Ocean Beach Green Center.

 

June 16th   Saturday     10:00 a.m.     Shade Tree Brigade Join Save Peninsula Trees if you would like to help green Ocean Beach and contribute to the city's goal of meeting our Climate Action Plan. Meet at 10:00 am at the Ocean Beach Green Center, 4843 B Voltaire St. 92107 for coffee and bagels and a short briefing.  We will then go out into our neighborhoods, preselected areas for planting potential or, you may choose your own neighborhood in Ocean Beach if you prefer.  You will be provided  with information and materials to give to our neighbors about the good news that they can get free trees and free plantings from the city, just by agreeing to water them until they are established.  For More info:  619-225-1083 or email savepeninsulatrees@outlook.com

The subject of the panel discussion is the Success of the Save the Che Café Campaign, 2014 – 2018.
