Susan Rosenberg

Susan Rosenberg

Susan Rosenberg was a political activist who was sentenced to 58 years in prison. She served 16 years until President Bill Clinton granted her clemency on his final day in office. Her new memoir, An American Radical: Political Prisoner in My Own Country, reveals how she was subjected to brutal treatment in various U.S. prisons, including techniques later used on a wider scale at Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, and now - for Pvt. Bradley Manning - at the Marine brig in Quantico.

Mike Needham at KPFK

Michael Needham

Michael Needham is the father of John Needham, who received an Army Commendation Medal for actions to save his comrades, and a Purple Heart for combat injuries suffered in Iraq. John later attempted to commit suicide as a result of severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Instead of receiving treatment, he was held in solitary confinement, deprived of food and threatened by his commanders. John died in February of 2010 from complications related to his medical care.
For more information please visit U.S. Tour of Duty online, and feel free to email Maurice Martin of SDCC Student VFP with any questions you might have, or call him at 619.279.8665.

Thank you for you attention and response. We look forward to seeing you on the 14th of April at the San Diego City College Faculty Lounge. The event begins at 1 PM and will end at 3 PM. In the meanwhile, click on the image below to watch an interview with Ray McGovern.

Sincerely,

Jeff Norman
