The concern, frustration and anger about Davis' continued YES votes for open-ended, no-withdrawal war-funding from residents of the 53rd District is palpable. According to a survey from Davis' own website, a majority of the 53rd District opposed further open-ended Iraq funding, and supported withdrawal from Iraq. Yet Ms Davis continued to vote to extend the funding of the Iraq war and occupation.
Four term incumbent Davis has never been opposed in a primary in the 53rd District - -a district was specifically drawn, according to Davis herself, in order to create a "safe seat" with a strong Democratic majority.
